From April 16 to 19, the Spring Fair of the Taoyunchanghe Spring and Autumn Grand Bazaar in Jingdezhen was held as scheduled. This edition of the fair was themed “National and Global,” bringing together over 800 artisans from 38 countries worldwide. The five major categories—blue-and-white porcelain, famille rose porcelain, colored-glaze porcelain, delicate pierced porcelain, and Yixing teapots—made a stunning appearance, becoming the core highlights of the event.
At the venue, products from the five categories were displayed in designated zones, featuring both time-honored classic designs passed down through millennia and innovative works that blend modern design: the classic intertwined floral patterns of blue-and-white porcelain, the delicate flower-and-bird washes of famille rose porcelain, the natural kiln transformations of colored-glaze porcelain, the translucent textures of delicate pierced porcelain, and the rustic charm of Yixing teapots, all of which drew large crowds of visitors and buyers who stopped to appreciate and sample them. Concurrent events such as new-product launches and art lectures further showcased the craftsmanship and innovative vitality of the five categories; among them, the “National Colors of Dunhuang” series of ceramic novelties, which combines traditional porcelain art with Dunhuang culture, received widespread acclaim on site.
This Spring and Autumn Grand Bazaar used ceramics as a medium to build a bridge for exchange between traditional crafts and international trends, not only bringing the five categories into the public eye but also promoting the international dissemination of Jingdezhen’s porcelain art culture and injecting new vitality into the local ceramics industry.
